Welcome to Brading Haven Yacht Club’s Web Site.

Brading Haven Yacht Club is a members' club. It was created in 1950 by a group of like minded people for the purpose of supporting sailing, cruising, racing and sail training. The club is run by a team of Flag Officers; Commodore, Vice Commodore and Rear Commodores who chair the various committees which manage the club's affairs and activities under the Management Committee. All Flag Officers and the members of the Management Committee are elected by the members at the AGM. Membership currently stands at over 1000, and several hundred are cadets and young people.

Races are run throughout the year, slow and fast handicap races in various series. Sail training occurs from March to October and the high point perhaps is our successful Sail Training Week held in August. Our fleet of Optimists, Toppers, Picos and Wayfarers are available to support the training and are also available to borrow for leisure sailing when supervision is available. All waterborne activities are supported by our fleet of patrol boats (RIBs). Our cruising and motor boat sections are also popular, with both summer and winter activities.

Club Facilities

The club house has been developed over the years and now offers a comfortable and spacious bar, lounge and dining area, all of which overlook the harbour and the spectacular views across to the Duver and the moored boats. The bar and dining room are supported by our friendly and helpful bar and catering staff, particularly when we offer our wide range of social activities, including themed suppers and dinners, dances, international cuisine evenings as well as our luncheon and bridge section events.

As a result of many years of racing we have developed strong and friendly links with other sailing and yacht clubs, particularly in the East Wight.  We are always open to sailing visitors, as individuals or as rallying groups of boats visiting Bembridge Harbour. Excellent food and drink are available for their enjoyment after what ever kind of voyage our visitors might have had.

Our main goal and purpose is to get as many people, young and older on to the water, with any relevant training and support. We also want them to enjoy the food and drink available afterwards too, relaxing in the bar, lounge or dining room.

Please explore our website and if you like what you see, come and visit us at Brading Haven;

better still join us and become one of our members.
