Frostbite Supper and Prizegiving, January 19th 2009

Conditions of Entry

Any Maritime Subject	First Prize, Bottle of Champagne
Sailing at BHYC	First Prize, Bottle of Champagne
For Cadets -- Messing about on the water	First Prize, Jessops Photo Token

Rules

The competition is open to all members of Brading Haven Yacht Club. Entries shall consist of photographic images submitted in any one of the following categories:

• Any Maritime Subject.
• Sailing at BHYC
• Messing about on the Water – Cadet Member (under 18 years of age).

Each entrant may submit up to three images in each category.

Entries shall be submitted to the BHYC Bar Steward no later than 10pm on Wednesday December 31st, 2008. Each entry shall consist of an envelope, with an entry form (available from the Bar Steward) attached to it, and containing all the images submitted by the entrant. Each submitted image shall consist of a print in colour or monochrome, minimum size 6x4 inches (150 x 100mm), maximum size A4, mounted for display. Each print shall be titled on its visible side, and shall be marked on its reverse side with the entrant’s name and the category in which the image is submitted. Prints will be returned to entrants after the competition. A fee of £1 per image entered shall apply to all adult entrants. Cadet entries free of charge. Images in each category will be judged by a panel appointed by the BHYC Management Committee. The Panel will consist of:

• A professional photographer.
• A BHYC Flag Officer.
• A BHYC Cadet .

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in each category at the BHYC Frostbite Supper on January 19th 2009, where the prints will be displayed.

All images in all categories will also compete for a special prize which will be awarded at the Frostbite Supper following a ballot of members present.

If possible, entrants are requested to additionally supply an electronic version of their images by e-mail for projection at the Frostbite Supper.
