Rowing Update 2
Progress continues with the arrival of the second of the River Teign rowing boats last Tuesday, along with all the oars, rudders and other gear. Several members have already volunteered to carry out the preparation work needed before they can go in the water, and we are expecting to get the first boat in the water in the very near future. The Swan Cruise to Royal Victoria Yacht Club,12th May.
Seven Swans a Swimming! Seven Swans and two ribs made the epic journey to Fishbourne. The weather was ideal with a gentle westerly wind that meant the fleet were able to tack out to No Mans Land Fort, avoiding the shipping lane and back towards Ryde Pier avoiding hovercrafts and Wightlink Riders! EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA WEEKEND
Despite the wind all Cadets had a great time on and around the water. We improved our sailing by using the Remote-control yachts, learnt how to plan a passage and drive a RIB, and also had some fun on our mega stand-up paddle board. Burns Night
What a fantastic night it was on Saturday, with 73 Members and guests enjoying a delicious 5 course supper and an evening of live entertainment, with all the atmospheric theatre associated with Burns Night, from a piper to the address to the haggis, songs and music. Finale of IW Youth and Junior Dinghy Championships Series at Brading Haven Yacht Club
The final event of the IW Youth and Junior Dinghy Championships Series took place at Brading Haven Yacht Club on Saturday 8th of November.Competitors arrived to a sunny but windless harbour and wondered if there would be any racing. Community Grant Awards Celebration
The Community Grant Awards were held at the BYCC last Friday, and it was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all. BHYC Cruising Group September 2025
On Wednesday 24th September 2025, four boats from the Cruising Group, ventured out to Gosport marina, the fifth one having sailed there the day before. It was a bit of a bumpy ride out from Bembridge Harbour & into the Solent but once we had passed 'No Man's Land' Fort, the waters coming out of Portsmouth Harbour smoothed our passage & we covered the rest of the journey in comfort.
