Quiz-Master and Multi-Tasker extraordinaire Keith Partington, got our grey cells working with some tricky questions, in-between pouring pints. A well deserved first win for team 'Geoff and the Three Girls'. Does your Grey Matter? Come & unlock your knowledge at the speed of thought at the next Quiz Night, 6th March, 8pm.

    Burns Night Supper

Well, what a night! Members and their guests were treated to a delicious 5 course meal and all the traditional theatre that comes with this event, plus further entertainment provided by the haunting sounds of the piper, a surprise visit from members of The Medina Marching Band and finally Jerry's disco. Enormous thanks go to Gordon Wight for staging the evening (even if we couldn't understand much of what he was saying at one point!)

Wight Knuckle Brewery Open Icebreaker Series

Finally, some weather we can use to get out on the water. After cancellations for gales from the end of December and through January, at last a fine spell. Cold, certainly, 3 degrees C and, we have to admit, very little wind. Despite this we had eighteen hardy sailors turning out in three classes for some good, competitive racing in the harbour. First to start were the four boats in

    BHYC Training Information Afternoon

Last Saturday we had an information afternoon for cadets and their families to present what BHYC has to offer for the year ahead. It was brilliant to see so many people turn up to learn about all the new opportunities for 2025, and the feedback and questions we received were really helpful! We discussed the courses we've planned, relaunched our Cadet Nights,

Nerthek Restoration Continues At A Pace

Our brilliant and busy volunteers have been working to get our historical wooden Gig Nerthek, in tip top condition for the Spring and the busy months ahead with the rowing calendar. The team have been scraping, sanding and preparing all her beautiful wood. It's been a brilliant team effort, in conditions that have not been easy with these cold Winter days but with great team work, spirits have been high. Special thanks to Tony Burton

    Gig Rowing

The BHGR were relieved to see the high winds had calmed down so everyone could start rowing again and making way for those sunny days back on the water! Planning is already underway for next year's adventure outings, social rowing, and racing regattas. The Christmas Row with Yarmouth Gig Rowing is a great way to wrap up the year and something to look forward to in just a few weeks! A big thank you

BHYC IW Junior and Youth Championships 2024

7.40am Saturday 2 nd November. I thought I would get to the club early. Wow what a turnout. Polly had clearly done her best to get an army of volunteers out early with cakes, teas and coffee, and some very welcome bacon rolls to motivate everyone. With the SIs written, and the class flags all prepared in the week what could possibly go wrong? Oh dear, what's all that diesel coming out of the committee

Frostbite Series 2024 Race 1 Saturday 19th October

The calm before the storm, or more accurately, a very pleasant October afternoon with a perfect westerly breeze, before Storm Ashley hits the UK. And with one of the biggest tides of the year, coinciding with the 'Hunter's' full moon we had more water to play with than is often the case. Scows floating about on the apron, a small contretemps with the submerged mill wall, one scow sailor told me
