Future Sailors Program Level 3 Block 4
During the practical sessions on the 22nd and 23rd, sailors will be sailing in double-handed boats, focusing on teamwork, communication, and coordination between helm and crew. They will also be introduced to spinnakers, learning how they work and their role in downwind sailing. This initial exposure will help sailors understand the basics of handling and controlling a spinnaker in a supported and progressive environment.
The workshop session on the 24th will focus on focus, concentration, and mindfulness for sailors. Participants will learn techniques to help them stay attentive, manage pressure, and make clear decisions while on the waterskills that are especially important when working as part of a team and handling more advanced equipment.
Overall, this week supports sailors in developing both their teamwork and technical understanding, while also strengthening the mental skills needed for effective and confident sailing.
