Future Sailors Program Level 1 Block 4

During the practical sessions on the 22nd and 23rd, sailors will concentrate on tacking upwind. Emphasis will be placed on efficient tacking technique, maintaining boat speed, and choosing the best course in relation to the wind. Sailors will develop a better understanding of how to make progress upwind effectively, building both confidence and control in more challenging sailing conditions.

The workshop session on the 24th will focus on communication in double-handed sailing. Although sailors will be sailing individually on the water this week, this session will introduce the key principles of clear and effective communication when working with a partner, preparing them for future double-handed sailing experiences.

Overall, this week combines technical development with teamwork awareness, helping sailors to improve their upwind sailing while gaining a broader understanding of communication and coordination in sailing.
