RYA Powerboat Level 2 Powerboat Handling
at Brading Haven Yacht Club

Requirements:
Open to ages 12+ (under 16s may receive an endorsed certificate). No prior experience required, though some boating knowledge is helpful. Participants should be water confident and bring suitable outdoor clothing, including non-slip footwear.

Course Duration:
This course runs over 2 days, 9:00am 5:00pm each day.

Key Learning Points Covered:

• Launching and recovering a powerboat
• Low-speed manoeuvring and close-quarters handling
• High-speed handling and turning techniques
• Man overboard recovery
• Basic navigation and awareness
• Safety equipment and seamanship

Outcome & Progression:
By the end of the course, you will be able to handle a powerboat safely and confidently in a variety of conditions. You will receive the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, which can be used to apply for an ICC (International Certificate of Competence). Progression options include Advanced Powerboat, Safety Boat, or instructor training.
