RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is a practical, hands-on course designed to teach participants the essential skills and knowledge needed to safely operate a powerboat.

Throughout the course, participants will learn boat handling techniques, launching and recovery, high and low-speed manoeuvres, steering, coming alongside, anchoring, safety procedures, and basic navigation. The course also covers essential topics such as engine checks, weather awareness, collision regulations, and emergency procedures.

On successful completion, participants will gain the confidence and competence to drive a powerboat safely in familiar waters and receive the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, which is the recognised standard for many powerboat users and is often required for further RYA training.
