Future Sailors Program Level 1 Block 1
During the on-the-water sessions on the 10th and 11th, sailors will be introduced to key principles such as points of sail, trim, and balance. These core concepts will help participants understand how a boat moves in relation to the wind, how to position themselves effectively, and how to adjust sails for better control and performance. With guidance from instructors, sailors will begin to apply these skills in a safe and supportive environment.
The workshop session on the 12th will focus on rope work, where sailors will learn essential knots and rope handling techniques. These are key seamanship skills that support both safety and efficiency when sailing.
Overall, Week 1 of the Level 1 programme introduces sailors to the basics of boat handling and seamanship, creating a strong foundation for progression while ensuring an enjoyable and engaging first experience on the water.
