Boxing Day Racing

Boxing Day 'wrong way round back to front' race saw 15 boats taking part in the brainteaser of a course, which unusually, started to the west and had the competitors going clockwise round a mixture of port and starboard rounding marks, only to change direction after two laps and complete two laps in reverse. A short beat to H made for some great spectating from the club.
The two Aeros got away and sped round the course taking line honour's first and second after some close racing and the full rig laser took third in the fast.
In the slow handicap, Phil Wright's Pico was first home with the club swan 'Swanee' second. The Scows were joined by some Bembridge sailors, including a couple of illusions. There was much position changing after the club scow sailed by Pete Matthews got away nicely at the start, but it was Graham Sunderland who was first home in the Scows.
As always, a big thank you to the rib teams who make the racing possible.
Competitors enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies in the club afterwards, which must have helped everyone warm up.
Next race isn't far away - make sure you have entered for the ice breakers online, and why not book a club boat for the series.
