Great Bembridge Paper Boat Race

Despite a cloudy sky, this year's Great Bembridge Paper Boat Race was a huge success with lots of entries. As part of the Bembridge Harbour Family Fun Weekend it was great to see so many visitors to the club participating - around 39 of the entrants had built their craft at the Bembridge Harbour Company boat-building session held earlier in the week at the Duver Marina.
With 57 boats in total (possibly a record amount) we had to split into three races. The wind took boats in all directions and there were several casualties along the way but many thanks to Robin Lobb, Alex Neil and Simon Wade for rescuing many boats and righting the capsized vessels. More details will be published on the
Bembridge Harbour website but congratulations to cadet George Cook for 2nd place in the older juniors race.
